3 ways to kick start your morning

Our morning routine sets the tone for the kind of day we'll have. If we don't sleep enough and wake up grouchy, we might spend the majority of our day trying to overcome this bad mood and low energy. Hence, it's important to have a great start to our day, here are three habits that will help.


Don't check your phone as soon as you wake up!


Checking your phone in the morning is said to decrease your focus throughout the day and distract you as soon as you wake up. Instead of snoozing multiple times, wake up and go as long as you can without checking your phone or scrolling social media.



Avoid social media in the morning since you might come across negative news, which will set off a bad mood or cause you to worry.


Breakfast like a King


There's a reason behind this saying. Since breakfast quite literally means 'breaking your fast’, it's important to nourish your body with what it needs to gain energy for the day. A balanced meal, full of protein, healthy carbohydrates, and a mix of fruits and vegetables is the best way to ensure you have stable energy throughout the day.



Do not include artificially sugary content in the morning, this leads to a spike in energy, followed by a crash where you feel tired.


Stretch your body and mind


Your body needs a refresher after waking up from a deep sleep, gently stretching your body after you wake up or even engaging in exercise after a warm-up, will help your body get in the groove and feel stimulated.





Your mental health and mood for the day can also be set right by practicing mindfulness and positive habits like making a list of things that you're thankful for or giving yourself a pep talk to get through the day.
